Sequel Box 1.0.0 is free to try. Install it on Windows, run the portable file from any folder or USB drive, or open the web editor in an up-to-date Chrome, Edge or Safari.

What Sequel Box is

Sequel Box is a 3D video editor that runs on Windows and in your browser. You stack video, images, text and audio on a layered timeline, move things around in 3D, and export a finished MP4, without switching between several apps.

Version 1.0.0 is the first public release, and it is free to try.

What’s inside 1.0.0

  • Timeline with layers. Trim, split and move clips, group layers, and undo any step with Ctrl+Z. See the timeline.
  • Click-to-add keyframes. Choose a spacing, then keep clicking a property’s keyframe button. Each click adds a keyframe one step after the last, so you never drag the playhead. How it works.
  • One-click 3D presets. Cube turn, doors, fly-in, loop and camera orbit, for one clip or several at once. See the five presets.
  • 72 built-in sounds in 9 categories, with Auto-apply by name. Read how it works.
  • Figma paste. Copy layers in Figma, press Ctrl+V in the editor, and each layer lands on its own timeline layer.
  • Import almost anything: video, images, audio, PDF pages and GLB/GLTF 3D models.
  • Export MP4 at 24, 30 or 60 fps and at full, 75% or 50% resolution, or save any frame as a PNG. Social sizes and safe zones are built in.

Getting started in three steps

  1. Run the installerDownload it, run it, then open Sequel Box from your Desktop.
  2. If Windows shows a warning, choose More info, then Run anywayThe app isn’t code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may appear the first time.
  3. Connect onceFonts, the 3D library and the video encoder load from the internet on first use, so be online the first time you open it.
Good to knowOlder project files (.sequelbox, .framecut and .json) open too, so nothing you made earlier is left behind.
