Sequel Box for Windows
AI agents connect to the desktop app only, not the browser editor. Use the installer version. The portable file is slow to start as an MCP server and its path can change.
Connect Claude, Cursor or any MCP-compatible agent to the Sequel Box desktop app. Describe the video you want, and the agent creates it and exports the MP4.

Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, or any other app that supports MCP servers.
Only for Claude Code and the shorter config. The default config uses Sequel Box itself as the runtime, so Node.js isn’t needed.
In the Sequel Box desktop app, click the logo (top-left) and choose Connect AI agent…
Switch AI agent access on. It is off by default, and nothing can control the editor while it is off.
Pick Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor / other in that window and follow the steps below.
Fully quit and reopen your AI app, then ask it to make a video.
Open the Claude Desktop tab and click Connect Claude Desktop automatically. Sequel Box adds itself to Claude’s settings, keeps a backup and leaves your other servers alone.
By hand: Settings, Developer, Edit Config, then paste the block. Your paths will differ.

}Create a 1080×1920 video with the title “Summer Sale” in big yellow text, add a whoosh sound at 0 seconds, and export it.
Give the agent your real logo, product image or clips. It uses them instead of drawing substitutes.
Say the brand colors and the look, for example “dark premium tech, blue accent, cinematic”.
The agent follows design rules (safe zones, no overlapping text, no dead first second) and previews a frame before it exports.
Gradient fills, soft shadows, premium text styles (gold, chrome, fire, neon…), 3D animation and whole-frame effects: bloom, film grain, vignette, light leaks. Exports MP4 at 24, 30 or 60 fps.
The connection uses localhost with a random access token, created each time you switch agent access on. Nothing goes to the internet.
A green “AI agent editing…” badge shows while an agent is working, and every edit is a normal undo step (Ctrl+Z).
The agent only reads media files at paths it names. It exports .mp4 files only inside your user folder, and never overwrites unless asked.
The app is closed, or AI agent access is off. Open Sequel Box and switch access on.
The app restarted. Restart your AI app, or switch agent access off and on.
Ask the agent to start one, and it will call new_project.
Fully quit your AI app (for Claude Desktop, right-click its tray icon and choose Quit) and open it again.
Still stuck? Run node server.mjs --selftest from the mcp folder in Sequel Box’s data folder to see whether the app is reachable, or contact us.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an AI app control Sequel Box. You describe a video, and the agent creates the project in the editor and exports it as an MP4.
Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, or any other MCP-compatible agent. Claude Desktop can be set up with one click from inside Sequel Box.
No. AI agents can only connect to the Sequel Box desktop app for Windows. The installer version is recommended.
No. It is off until you switch it on in Connect AI agent…, and nothing can control the editor while it is off.
No. The connection runs on your own computer. Sequel Box listens on localhost only, with a random access token created each time you switch agent access on.
Not for Claude Desktop or Cursor with the config Sequel Box shows you, because the app itself is used as the runtime. Claude Code and the shorter config need Node.js 18 or newer.
Yes. Every edit is a normal undo step, so press Ctrl+Z. A green “AI agent editing…” badge shows while an agent is working.
If the agent doesn’t pick a path, the MP4 is saved in your Videos/SequelBox folder. Exports only write .mp4 files inside your user folder and don’t overwrite a file unless asked.
